Cant send F2 key over SSH

I run byobu on my servers, and I cant send the key-commands (fn-F2, fn-F6) that let me spawn new shells or disconnect from the multiplexer. This SSH manager lacks functionality that the basic Terminal has, and because of this, its useless for me.

Additionally, theres no option to have a semi-transparent background like Terminal has, which is a shame, because thats easier on the eyes.
