vSSH App Reviews

Great app, very flexible

I use this app every day, for every terminal session I need to use. I love that it syncs with iCloud, and that I can open multiple sessions simultaneously and just toggle through them. It’s lightning fast, and super easy to work with. There are two things I’d love to see added: 1) color themes, especially on a per-connection basis. For instance, I’d like to use a different color theme on servers that are considered production versus development. And 2) I’d love if the bookmark manager got an upgrade to show the bookmarks in various view formats, such as a tree view, small and large icon view, nested folders that correspond to groups, etc. I have a ridiculously long list of servers, and scrolling can sometimes be a pain.

Good SSH

Good SSH , but if you change font size it don’t ???? Try to reduce or increase font … no way - Poor documentation. But beside that it is a good ssh client

Crushes on my Mac when using key forwarding

Very dissapointed with the app. I need to be able to forward key to access instances and the app always crushes on my Mac OS when I try connect after I check “forward key". I had to use another app.

still requires some fixes

copy/paste is broken, tried to paste about 5k of pure text to mcedit and got only last 10 lines, fix it please

Best App, which I tried for SSH, but for this title need to a little bit work else.

Hello. Please, add new function. In a main list of my connections, I would like to see simple group management, quick adding and quick migrations of connection from one group to an other. It will give very good and сomfortable environments in work between hundred connections, companies and test platforms. It’s important everything do quick, for this, need to make it and make a breathe to this idea visualization. It’s my opinion and opinion of hundred users, just they are don’t have a time to speak about it. Thankx.

Best SSH Client for OSX

vSSH is by far the best client for mac. It has all the features you need, works without problems and faster then a lot of the other options out there. It has optimized my workflow so much and just a joy to use. Even the developers put in a feature I requested which is great.

Some discontents

In clients I have worked with in the past, you could highlight a string and it would be copied. A right-click (yeah, it was Windows days) would paste the highlighted section. Since we don’t have that here, I am command-C’ing and command-V’ing like crazy, but those keystrokes are often not recognized by the software. Sometimes only part of the string is copied. Another annoyance is that there is no way to configure a keep-alive. So if my session is idle for more than even a minute, the connection is lost and the history is wiped out from that session. Also, the documentation is not great, especially for macros. I haven’t explored the other features. On the bright side, the display customization tools are nice.

Awesome SSH app

I have been working on linux servers for 15 years and when i switched my desktop to Mac, i was worried that I wouldn’t find a suitable ssh application that stored my sessions, gave me multiple windows that are versatile, and was a snap to use. VSSH does all that for me and I hardly miss my SecureCRT at all! But there is one thing more important. I originally noticed and reported a bug with the number pad enter key being miss-mapped to a Cntl-C.. not very handy,, but in this release the problem is fixed. I am really impressed and wish to thank VSSH for listening. Thanks guys.. well done! /bn

Great app, very flexible

I use this app every day, for every terminal session I need to use. I love that it syncs with iCloud, and that I can open multiple sessions simultaneously and just toggle through them. The only thing I wish it would support is color themes, especially on a per-connection basis. For instance, I’d like to use a different color theme on servers that are considered production versus development. Keep adding and improving though: this is a great application!

very useful

very good.

Useless application

I was hoping this application would save my time managing tons of ssh connections I use on my daily work. Instead it hungs every connection after 20..30 seconds of inactivity with no way to keep connection for longer. You have to reconnect again and again. Reported that issue but no reply from the developer so no idea whether this issue could be repaired and when. Finally - removed this app from my Mac and forgot it. I DO NOT recommend it to anyone.

This needs to be improved

Tends sometimes to freeze after 20-30 sec. Gathers lots of data - with just a few connections this application took almost 5GB of my drive after a year of using! Looking for something more reliable...

Good Terminal Client

First day of using this program, has no bugs and good speed of working. Midnight Comander lines without dashed. Respekt for developer!

Best SSH client for Mac OS

I really love this App. I tested a lot of apps for working with SSH and this is the best!

It simply works but VERY Dissapointed

Console program performance is very poor if intensive console stdin/stderr io messages printed. It eats a lot of cpu and runs many thousands times slover than standard terminal. Besides of that no menu/shortcuts to switch between tabs.

Fine. But the font with antialiasing always on spoils everything

It works fine with SSH. If there was a checkbox to turn OFF font antialiasing, just like in the internal MacOS shell app. I would put 5 starts to the app. So far it hurts my eyes ;-)

Bought all three

Sadly, will not allow key synchronization. I understanding making it default to not syncing keys, but not allowing it and only alloing key to be installed by itunes hook up stinks. Likes app toherwise. What good is iCloud sync if I ahve to manually install part of the config anyway.

Needs work

Unable to get font size to change in Preferences. You change it to a larger size and it does not change and the preference does not stay. Looks like a nice start, but so far it is unusable to me with such small text on a large monitor. Please fix this. I am on Lion 10.7.5

Cant send F2 key over SSH

I run byobu on my servers, and I cant send the key-commands (fn-F2, fn-F6) that let me spawn new shells or disconnect from the multiplexer. This SSH manager lacks functionality that the basic Terminal has, and because of this, its useless for me. Additionally, theres no option to have a semi-transparent background like Terminal has, which is a shame, because thats easier on the eyes.

Feature needed

Works perfect; only one thing is missing; the “full screen” or maximize top right button feature
